Mayflower

Wasatch County recently approved plans for a major development destined to become an eastern portal of Deer Valley Resort. The 940 acre development is located on the Deer Valley side of U.S. 40 south of the Mayflower exit, stretching from close to the Jordanelle Reservoir to the slopes.  This area is known as the Mayflower Development.

The vision for the Mayflower Area is going to include several 4 and 5 Star Hotels that will be the anchor of the village.  The plan is for approximately 410 hotel/commercial units, 415 hotel rooms/suites, 1698 residential units, 250,000 square feet of retail/commercial, 95,000 square feet of employee housing and a 68,000 square feet of recreation center.  One of the planned hotels will be intended for the benefit of military members. The resort will be a four season resort with year round activities and walk-ability. Some of the planned amenities will be a ski beach area, ice-skating rink, miniature golf, snow shoeing, movies on the mountain, an alpine coaster, tobogganing/sledding, aerial tram rides, mountain biking, a trail system that will connect with Deer Valley Resort and much more.

The resort is planning six new lifts as part of the project, which is anticipated to expand the skiable area by close to 900 acres. This will be about 200 acres of runs as well as some glade skiing.

Construction of the Mayflower development is already underway.  The first building in the plan is projected to be one of the hotels.  The entire development of this area will take upwards of 20 years.
